They backed away, as the man gave my mum some pill-like things.
"You got to send her to the mental hospital, she will received better treatment there."

Are they talking about me?
I don't know.
But one thing I know is that someone is coming for me....

"Hah! Scary cat! Are you still so intimidated by those things!? Lousy!" Calvin snickered, elbowing me in the ribs.

I squealed in pain and kicked his leg, but it seemed to be futile as he meaningfully showed me his leg muscles.

Calvin is one of the most popular boy in the whole school, well, probably the whole Audition Town. There would
be someone who knew him wherever he goes. Always. He grinned at me, showing me a set of perfect teeth that anybody would dream to get. I sighed in defeat, shaking my head as everyone at the table started laughing.

I glared at everyone until they stopped but however, Jennifer and Leon continued.
Secretly and quietly.
Trust them to think that I didn't notice them.

Well, I seemed to be the only one who believed in the existance of the horrifying spirits. Nobody else do,
and I believed they would never, no matter how many missing cases and news that were linked to supernatural paranormal activities were shown as facts in the town.

Hmm.. I wonder ..

"Kelly, are you okay?" Angela nudged me. I removed myself from my castle of thoughts and nodded my head. Angela was one of my closest friends, the most understanding among all the friends I had. Although she did laugh at me for believing in the supernatural, I sensed that she too believed in it even though she did not show it.

She got up from her chair and put on her "Cat Hoodie", that she always wore to school, which she told me was a gift from her late father.

The bell rang, which signified the end of our break. Our clique left the table reluctantly as Brenda made us rush back to class. With her, we were never late. I secretly admired Brenda's beauty, and deep down in my heart, I knew I envy Angela's features too.

They never failed to make me jealous, and besides their pretty faces, I was wild about their etiquette, particularly the way they carry themselves.

We then proceeded to our classrooms. Not to be boasting but our school is definitely one of the most prestigious schools in Audition Town, and almost of our classrooms were air-conditioned. Except for a few classrooms which were used for certain activities. It was luxurious, but most of the time my sleepiness got the better of me and I was not able to concentrate during lessons. Jennifer, too had a problem staying awake in class due to the air-conditioning. Brenda and Angela always knew I was falling asleep, and so they nudged me to keep me focusing in class.

That afternoon, our school invited a speaker to give a talk about Paranormal activies during assembly. I winked at my friends meaningfully now that they should know such 'things' exist. I rubbed my clammy hands together as I anticipated the talk. Although I knew that paranormal activities really does exist, in my heart I hoped that it does not. Seeing a spirit wandering around would be the last thing I ever wanted.

I shuddered, clearing my thoughts away.

~

Alright, so this Paranormal activity talk ended up becoming a Halloween scare. Great. I got cheated. Calvin and Leon glanced at me and grinned when I returned the look. I threw them a cold stare.

The Halloween talk passed on slow, I could not described it. It felt like hours has passed after the speaker had spoken for only 30 minutes. I swear I was not exaggerating and I meant what I said. Probably this speaker put on a spell to make the time slower, I thought jokingly to myself. Everyone started to feel bored and some even dozed off. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing but I found myself starting to observe the speaker.

She had long straight hair and neat bangs, yet something in her eyes told me that she was not simple. My attention was focused on her that I did not realise that the talk had already ended.

"Finally it ended!" I choroused in joy with Jennifer as we prepared to leave the room. As I was leaving the room with my clique, a chill went down my spineas I could sense our actions being watched.

Slowly, I turned back and looked into the room as I walked on. Nothing was there, everyone had left.

Perhaps it was just my wild imagination, and I convinced myself that I was being paranoid.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I threw myself onto my bed the moment I reached home. Urgh. I was just too tired, far too tired. Feeling myself entering sleep, I got too lazy to change into my home clothes and just slept in my current clothing. It felt as if my room door opened, but I did not have the energy to care even though I knew that somebody must have entered. That's weird. My mother would only be back at night.

Whatever. Too tired, I thought. All I ever wanted was to sleep.

~

All of a sudden, my bed suddenly opened up.
I was dropping into this black space.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" I screamed, as my eyes burst opened.

My stomach churned as I started to fall and just fall.
I was just screaming in fear, dropping into nothing.
I had no idea where I was going.
Tears kept flowing out from my eyes as I screamed in desperation, hoping that something would stopped this craziness.
I was horrified.

Gravity just kept pulling me as I screamed my lungs out. The horrifying feeling and shock that I got, no one is able to express it. I was just resting a few minutes ago, then I fall into nothing. It's that kind of shock that one could just faint from it.
My heart beat raced as every second passed.
Every single thoughts raced through my mind.
Would there be something at the bottom of nothing waiting for me?
I was falling on my back facing downwards. I have totally no idea what's behind me.
No idea.

I don't even know whether if there is a floor.

The scene changes as abruptly as it comes, just like a picture is on shuffle on a slideshow.
I was in this somewhere.
But everything so blur and vague.
My eyes darted acround the room, it was a classroom with desks and chairs. They were overturned.
Why am I in a classroom?
But something was amissed. This time round, the windows were broken and shattered pieces of glass were seen all around, along with the seemingly uncountable number of spiders across the room. I was utterly horrified. A chill wind gushed through the open windows and brushed
against my skin, worsening my helplessness.

"Is.. anyone there?" My voice felt hoarse as I called out timidly. I regretted the moment I spoke. Should I just
hide before anyone saw me? I tried to move, but I was paralysed. I COULD NOT MOVE!

Footsteps approached me, and everything was vague. But I was able to make out that the figure approaching was a female, and she looked really familiar.

An idea stucked my mind. It was the girl who conducted the Halloween talk!

Her bangs and long hair swayed in the wind, as she gave me a bloodshot stare that made my fear penetrated into my soul.

Everything moved fast, and there was no longer anything around me. My heartbeat raced and I felt adrenaline rushing through my veins.
Something was pulling me to the centre of the earth, the strength was strong and unavoidable.
I have been always afraid of heights. And the reason of that being dropping down.
I pictured myself balancing on the top of the building at the edge, and someone toppled me down.

Except that, I was falling into nothing. The speed grew increasingly scary and fast.
I could only hear hiccups escaping out of my mouth as I felt a metallic taste in it.
Cuddling myself into a ball, I prayed as my teared face touches my knee.
Slowly, I lost touch with the rest of the world.

Scene 3 - Unexpected.

I woke up, breathless. It was already 8pm and my family members were back. I could feel my whole pillow wet, probably with my tears.
So it was just a dream? I heaved a sigh of relief. Yet my breathings and heartbeats was still irregular, faster than usual.

I took a deep breath.

"Kelly, Calm down. It's nothing." I assured myself.

I left my bed and attempted to switch on the light. CLICKED. Nothing happened. I tried again, but to no avail. I became desperate, fearing the worst.
I felt my pulse racing as I continued to fumble the switch. Please, please work, I begged. Wild imaginations flooded my mind and I started thinking about scary things lurking in my room. Undead zombies, headless bodies. Noo..! Darkness got the better of me and I reached for the door in desperation. Pushing, kicking and slamming. I tried them all.
The door just would not budge. I buried my head in my hands, huddled myself against the wall.

"MUM! PLEASE HELP ME! PLEASE..." I cried as I continued to force the door open.

"MUM!?" My mum have to be at home. She has to be. What if I'm alone at home? Is something haunting me?

"MUMMM! Please. Please.. Oh no please !" I begged as I hugged the door helplessly.

The door swerved opened, and I gave a tiny scream.

"Yes Sweetie?" The familiar, warm voice filled the room. I dropped onto my knees, hugging my mother.
It took me a few moment to realise that she opened my door effortlessly.
The room burst into brightness as she flicked the switch.
She looked blankly and worried upon the sight of my teared face.
I opened my eyes timidly and looked at my room.
It looked just the same.
I tested the switch.
It was working as per normal.

~

I was brutally frank while relating the entire incident to her.

She smiled and held me tightly. "Don't worry sweetie, you must be too tired. Come and have dinner."

My mind was occupied throughout dinner and I was lost in my own world. My mum looked at my father and pointed at me using her face gestures. My father realised the situation and showed his concern for me. I nodded my head faintly in response to his concern on whether I was alright. After all that had happened, I no doubt lost my appetite for dinner and retreated back to my room. I laid on my bed, and eventually fell into a deep slumber, entering a dreamless sleep.

~

I woke up the next morning, feeling faint and uneasy even after a good ten hours of sleep. Did everything happened yesterday really happened?
I combed my hair slowly and left the house, dragging my feet all the way to school.

Calvin greeted me as I reached school. He was always the earliest amoung the clique to reach school. Following him, we approached an empty table in the cafeteria and settled down. Soon after, Brenda, Angela, Jennifer and Leon arrived. They took the seats around us and started the daily morning chattings about shopping, games and always never homework. Despite the destructive noise level from our table, I felt so empty. I had been wandering in my own thoughts, detaching myself from the conversation.

Scene 4 - It became real

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hey guys, today's lesson would be in the Level 2, Unit 403 Classroom. There would be a change." Our class chairman piped up and notified us. We thanked him and proceeded to the location shortly after.

As I stepped into the classroom, I froze in horror. It gave me a familiar image and that pushed my brain. I remembered.
This classroom appeared in my dream. Was it a dream? Did it really happen? I looked around, forcing myself to spot a slightest difference, but to no avail. Everything was just so similar, except that the windows were clearly polished and there was not a single spider on the ground.
I gritted my teeth tightly, and muttered a silent prayer, hoping that nothing would go wrong.

"Move out of my way!" A boy raved behind my back. I snapped back into reality and realised that I was standing at the doorstep, blocking almost everybody. Leon and Calvin stood up for me, saying that he should not be so rude to a girl.

I quickly move my legs towards the nearby table, as my friends followed along. Angela and Brenda kept exchanging glances while Jennifer and the others seemed oblivious of the situation. I love my best friends, but for a moment I was curious why they always knew what was happening.

"Class, sorry to inform you this late but everyone has to stay back till 8pm tonight for a special programme. Your parents have already been notified, so all of you please do not go home after school." Mrs Lee announced to the class, and I, who was not paying attention, only got the announcement when she repeated it. Groaning was heard around the class while I pouted.
I was supposed to have dinner in the restaurant with my family tonight. Well, I guessed there would be times when things do not go your way. This is a perfect example.

Soon, my mood lightened up, credits to my firends who kept me engaged in the clique conversation, and made the atmosphere lively and cheery. Everything
was going smoothly and I felt light-hearted.The nightmare was soon forgotten.

The day finally ended, and we are the remaining few who are left in the classroom as usual. Everyone has already left. The night was darker than usual, and it felt like it was already 10pm. As we were preparing to leave the classroom, the door slammed shut and the lights turned off. Screaming were heard through the classroom. We rushed towards the door and tried to open it, but our efforts were futile. It was the exact same situation which i encountered
yesterday before dinner. I panicked and started to tear. Jennifer cried in despair. Calvin and Leon showed traces of fright and shock on their faces, although we did not see them afraid or cried before. It was totally shocking.

"WHERE ARE BRENDA AND ANGELA?" I realised that they were missing. We started searching for them, to no avail.
Tripping around in the darkness, we decided to huddle together in case we lost each other.
The window shut fiercely one by one, and we shivered in fear for every window closed.

A female laughter burst into the room and Jennifer fainted. It was as though we were in a horror movie, whereby the director is doing the horror scene and were laughing at it.
Leon and Calvin protected us with their arms, securing us.
At that point of time, we kept ourselves close and huddled together tightly, not risking any chance to lose one another.

The light above us started to flicker, giving us a dim light, enabling us to make out the fearful environment.
I tried to look outside the classroom, but it was very dark. Very dark. The door opened slightly, and in our hearts we were preparing ourselves for the worst. Behind the overturned tables and chairs, somebody appeared.

She was a female, with her face hidden behind her long straight hair.
She moved about swiftly across the classroom.
She reached her hand out, moving in our direction.

I forced myself not to look at her.

Focusing the attention straight across the room through underneath the desks, I realised that she...

was floating!

A GHOST!
DEFINITELY A GHOST!

"Guys! What do we do now?" I whimpered as I closed my eyes shut, yearning for a response. The door was still opened.
Perhaps, we could make a run for it and escape.

"Guys..?" I called out again when there was no response.
Reluctantly, I opened my eyes slowly, coming to realise that my friends were not around me anymore.
Strangely, I could still feel the warmth because they were huddling me tightly, close to them.
Yes, behind me.
I must have thought too much that I turned myself away from them without awareness.

I turned back with confidence that my friends were still with me.

"Hi..."

It was only then that I realised that the ghost had been huddling me all along!
I struggled and attempted to break myself loose from her arms.
My ear-piercing screams broke the silence in the classroom, I had never been so frightened before.

I could see her red-painted long nails, grabbing my waist tightly.
Leon! Calvin! HELP! HELP!
I screamed at the top of my voice, and even more when I could feel her hair brushed against my skin.

She pulled herself close to me, her face touching mine.
A chill went down my spine and a sense of eerieness set in.
I never gave up struggling, trying my best to break myself off her clutches.
Yet it seemed the harder I tried to push her away, the tighter she was holding me.
For a moment it was so hard to breathe. I gasped for oxygen as she held me by my neck.
I grabbed at her fingers and tried to make her released me.
But she tightened her grab.
I felt myself becoming weaker.

"MUAHEHAHEHAHHEHHAAHEHAHEHE!!"

My screams were drowned in her laughters.

I had almost no energy left to fight that devil.

A ray of light appreared. I saw Brenda and Angela.
OH MY GOD, ARE YOU OKAY? I screamed in my mind as I saw them.
THey were handtied and have tapes over their mouth.
The most peculiar thing was that, they were handtied with some magic dust!?
But I was drained, I just could not think about anything.
I closed my eyes and prayed.

The figure let me off and snared. I was thoroughly frightened. Too frightened.
Coughing violently, I touched my neck and tried to let more oxygen into my lungs.
My windpipe felt crushed.
The figure then burst out into laughter. Even her voice is enough to send shiver down my spine.

"HOW DO YOU FEEEEEEEEEEEEEL!?" She cracked out. My eardrums felt like they were bursting.
For the first time, I looked carefully at her.
She was wearing this schoolgirl outfit. I recognised it. It was the old school uniform belonged to this school, before they changed the policy that home clothes are allowed to school. It was dusty and grayish.

Her shoes are the most extraordinary, which also gave me the most creeps. Babydoll shoes.
I have watched a horror movie about Dolls. Wild imagination raced my mind.

I looked at Angela and Brenda, and came to a realisation that they had been wanting my attention.
They gave a contented expression after they made eye contact with me. They gestured me some moves, but I could not get it. Angela frowned and hinted Brenda something. Brenda nodded her head. I looked at the figure, she was not noticing them. Only a few seconds has passed and just she was about to probably kill me, Angela and Brenda had light rays coming out from their body.

The figure screamed so loudly that the windows shattered. I covered my ears at that instance. She glared at me as well as Angela and Brenda before she fled.
Angela and Brenda were freed as the magic dust restricting them disappeared. They came over to untie me. The classroom remained haunted and dark.
A gush of chill wind started to blow onto my face, probably through that opened door.

Scene 5 - The temporary escape

"Kelly, are you okay now?" Angela breathed, with a concern expression on her face.

"Please, don't leave me. I don't want to be alone." I gasped, holding them as tightly as possible.
They nodded and carried me. At this point of time, I cleared my suspicions. Angela and Brenda were not humans.
They were fairies.
Not fairies.
But, in our human world, the closest definition for their species are fairies.
Whatever, but truth was they knew magic and could fight a devil!

"Yes, that figure was the dark spirit who died in this school when she was studying here. She escaped from hell and vowed to make everybody believed that paranormal activity existed. But I guessed she does it a wrong way. She did not know the offence of scaring humans." Angela explained. The information took a few minutes for it to be digested into my brain. I still did not get it, why does she only haunt me?

"She selects her victims, especially those who believed in ghosts." Brenda answered the question in my head unknowingly. She elaborated, saying that she was not too sure whether this case was true before, therefore not daring to tell me that such thing existed as it might backfired.

"We have no choice. She caught us when we are not noticing. It was pure luck that we were able to escaped just now when we caught her off guard. If she did not paused for that few seconds, Angela and me would not be able to focus our powers. The most important thing is to find the rest now. "

Soon, I know enough to piece the facts together to make logic. The figure wanted people to know her existence and therefore probably haunting me.
Not to mention that she was sworn enemies with fairies, and the best target to do her scaring .. is me.

"Cough.. I don't think she wants other people to know her existence. By drinking human blood, she is able to become a fairy .. supposedly." Brenda coughed, elbowing Angela.

Angela sighed and relented. She admitted that that was a fact and thought that it might be best for me to know everything, but not yet. Not yet. There is still more mystery going on?

We started running as Angela and Brenda transformed into their fairy looks. They looked beautiful and glamorous. We searched the classrooms as we have to find Calvin, Leon and
Jennifer. But however long we find, we could not find them.

"Here, you probably need this." Angela tossed me a scarf. I stared blankly at her before I noticed that my neck was bleeding badly and had a few scars. Thanking her, I put on the scarf and continued our search.

"Kelly!" Calvin's voice was faintly heard. We all stopped and looked around.
"Calvin! Leon! Jennifer!" I cried in happiness as we spotted them. We raced towards each other and gave everyone a big hug.

"Are they Angela and Brenda?" Jennifer asked, confused at their transformation.
I nodded like a robot, and explained everything as we ran into the night, finding the way out of the school.

Scene 6 - The End ? or not

"Ahh, I'm so hungry." Leon complained as we tried to search for a fast food restaurant.
The night was dark and the trees looked like there were monsters hidden behind them.
We have decided that we stayed over for the night as it might be dangerous to go home alone, especially with a ghost haunting.. us.
I still could not believed what had happened a few hours ago, as I tried to assured my family that I'm alright.
After I hang up the phone, I burst out into tears.
I was too tired of acting strong.

"Don't worry.. You have me." Calvin began, giving me a piece of tissue. "What happened just now?"
"She-" Angela began.
"Nothing.." I interrupted, giving Angela an apologetic look.
“Are you okay?” He asked. “You seem a little, I don’t know, out of it.”
“No, I’m fine, really.”
He smiled and glanced at my short brown hair then back to my eyes.
I blushed and turned away, he might have been teasing me but he was caring afterall.
He noticed the scarf around my neck.
“It’s a little warm for that after a long run, don't you think ?” He reached out for it but hesitated and put down his hands.
I smiled weakly, but said nothing.
At the corner of my eyes, I could see the others gossiping teasingly about us.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” He asked again.
“I’m fine, just a little tired.”

Leon coughed and I looked down, embarrassed.
Calvin smiled.

All of the sudden, the figure appeared. This time, it wasn't as scary as we were out in the streets.
She laughed eeriely, and it was 3am. Nobody was in the streets. We could not call for help.
But with my friends around me, I felt much better.

"Look, you gotta stop what you are doing. You are doing much harm to everyone you know?" Angela began.
The figure stared at her with the same frustrated expression, but did not say anything.

"What you are doing right now, is not making yourself any better, and I have to say that drinking blood is an offence." She continued, eyeing her every movement.
The figure snared and lunged towards us.
I could only hear my scream as it was probably the loudest.
I could not believe we are doing this on the streets.

I covered my eyes, and many fighting was going on.
Between the figure and our two dear friends.

"What DO YOU WANT ME TO DO !?" The figure screamed, the same piercing sounds that echoed around the buildings.
It was a wonder that nobody woke up. Perhaps it was very early and everyone was still sleeping.

I looked through the gaps through my hands and saw that she was being defeated.

"Go back to your own world, now. And turned in yourself. Stop hurting everyone." Angela ordered, in a gentle but firm tone.

"WHHHYY SHOULD I !?" The figure screamed back.

"Do you know that by doing this you are destroying one more life on earth? Do you still remember what happened to you when you were a human?" Brenda continued. They knew what happened to her!?

The figure showed a distorted face when the memory flashed upon her. After a few ten minutes or so, she finally agreed. Yet, her face still showed hints of dissatisfaction.

"Go, now." Angela commanded.

It disappeared. Just like that. It's the end of my nightmare. But I could not forget her face, showing those little hints of dissatisfaction.
Is this truly the end? I do not want such nightmares again, I felt so afraid. What would I do without Angela and Brenda?

Calvin sighed and touched my wounded neck.
"So that was what happened just now." He accused.
I touched my naked neck, then looked at Angela and Brenda. The scarf was gone.

"Sorry sweetie. But we have to go now, it is the end of our mission. It was to get rid of that figure. I believed that she would turn herself in. I shall see you in your next life, okay?"
Brenda said, touching my hair before giving me a big hug.

"Best friend forever." They whispered as we had a group hug.

"MUM! Where is my denim shorts!? I can't find it anywhere! I have to go out on a date now!" I shouted out of my room.
Calvin has asked me out on a movie date for the first time, to my delight. Thinking of the sweet moments that we are going to have later, I could feel adrenaline rushed through
my veins.

"In your pink wardrobe, dear!" My mum shouted back.

I rushed towards my pink wardrobe, totally forgotten about it.
As I opened the door of the wardrobe, a shoe laid on the basement of the wardrobe.
A slight dirty red shoe.
A babydoll shoe.

My face turned white as I picked up the note in the shoe.

"Enjoy your life now... While you can. I will be back. "

I put down the note slowly, as I pulled my hair in stress.
I could not stop crying, I'm horrified.
For a moment, I could not think straight.
My mind is just focused on the fact that she is coming back.
The hair was entangled in my fingers.

"Someone wants to kill me.. someone wants to kill me.." I whimpered.

That became the only phrase, the only sentence which I could speak.
Nothing more.
